William Dujardin is Ameropa’s Group CEO.
Born in Paris in 1974, he started his career at Louis Dreyfus in 1996 as a research analyst and assistant trader, straight after completing a master’s degree (DESS) in International Business from Université Paris-Dauphine. Subsequently a grains trader out of the South Africa and France offices, he left Louis Dreyfus in 2003 to complete an MBA with INSEAD. He then joined Bunge in 2005 where he held various corporate roles in planning, strategy, business development and finance for Bunge’s European and Global Grains businesses. In 2011, he was appointed General Manager for Bunge Latin America, based in Miami, USA.
He returned to Europe in 2016, first to head-up Bunge’s European food businesses as Vice President Food & Ingredients Europe, then becoming Vice President North & Central Europe in 2018 before joining Ameropa in January 2020 as Group CEO.
Mihai Anitei is Country Manager, Romania, leading on topics that are common to the Group’s many businesses in Romania, such as energy purchasing, corporate affairs, strategy and business development.
Having built his career in various leadership roles within the agri-business sector over 20-years, Mihai joined Ameropa as the CEO of Azomures in 2012, before being appointed as Country Manager in 2020. He is a board member for several companies within the Ameropa Group.
Mihai holds an MBA and Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering, and in 2018 published a book on agriculture.
Laurent Bogaert is our Group CFO, overseeing finance, accounting, controlling, treasury, risk, tax and IT.
Born in Belgium in 1969, Laurent has spent the last 25-years of his extensive finance career within agri-businesses & trading, during which he has lived in Switzerland, Belgium, France, Spain, Hungary, Poland and the USA. Laurent holds a Masters in Commercial and Financial Sciences from ICHEC University, Brussels, and has also completed ESADE & INSEAD programs in Leadership & International Operations Management respectively.
After 17-years at Bunge, Laurent joined Ameropa in his current role in October 2020.
Anita Buchli is the Head of Tax at Ameropa. Supervising the VAT department, she runs project for direct tax, transfer pricing and tax audits.
Anita graduated from the University of Fribourg with a Master in Law before continuing on to become an Attorney at Law and a Swiss Certified Tax Expert.
Following a 20+ year career spent in a variety of industries and different Tax and Legal roles, Anita joined Ameropa in 2015.
Alexander Chumakov is the COO, Fertilizers.
Born in 1963, Alex graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1985 with BS Economics (Wharton) and BA Political Science (CAS), later followed by an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business 2001. He commenced working in fertilizer trade with International Raw Materials of Philadelphia in 1985, before joining Toepfer International Asia Pte Ltd Singapore as a trader in the fertilizer department in 1991 where he went on to hold various senior management roles in Europe and Asia.
Alex joined Ameropa in 2008, establishing Ameropa Asia Pte Ltd. In 2014, he took on the additional role of Chief Trader Fertilizers with the responsibility of managing the groups global fertilizer trade. In 2015, he was appointed COO of the Fertilizer Group.
Harri Kiiski is the CEO, Azomures.
Born in Helsinki in 1962, Harri started his career at Kemira in 1987 as a research chemist after completing a master’s degree (MSc) in Chemistry from University of Jyväskylä. He went on to complete a PhD on the Properties of Ammonium Nitrate based fertilizers from the University of Helsinki.
After his studies he held various positions from Product and Process development to Manufacturing Technology management. Harri joined Yara International in 2007, before becoming the Senior Technology manager in SABIC in 2014. He returned to Europe in January 2018 as the Chief Operations Officer for Azomures, before being appointed as CEO in January 2020.
He is an author of several publications on fertilizer properties, editor on fertilizer chapters of Ullmann’s Encyclopaedia of Industrial Chemistry, and inventor in 5 patents.
Sophie Martin is COO, Grains Origination and Assets.
Sophie graduated from ESSEC Business School in Paris with an MBA in Finance & Strategy. She started her career as a financial auditor for KPMG and held various finance and operations positions within Louis Dreyfus for 10 years, in their US, Singapore and Geneva offices.
Since joining Ameropa in 2016, Sophie has led a variety of activities, including strategy development, business development, acquisitions and investments across all 3 of Ameropa’s business clusters.
Cédric Mayor is the Chief Grains Trader.
Born in 1969, he graduated at the Université de Lausanne, faculté des Sciences Politiques in 1993. He gained experience at André & Cie S.A., Lausanne in the years between 1993 until 1996 as assistant trader in the grain trading department. In 1996 he started working at Garnac Grain Co. (André Group) in Kansas City (USA) as a junior trader for the wheat department. He returned to André & Cie S.A., Lausanne in 1998 as a trader on the African desk.
Cedric joined Ameropa in 2001, as a trader. In 2007, he was appointed as Grains Trading Director, and since January 2014 he is the Chief Grains Trader.
Peter Miescher is the Head of Business Development and IT at Ameropa, responsible for IT project management, Digitization and Business Development.
Having completed his degree in Economics at Sonoma State University in California in 2003, Peter went on to work in the finance sector at Credit Suisse Trade Finance before joining Ameropa in 2008. Over the course of 10 years, Peter went on to diversify his knowledge and experience with roles in trading and finance in our Swiss, South African, and North American offices, before taking on his role in 2018.
Jim Mole is the CEO, Ameropa Australia. He has full P&L responsibility for Ameropa Australia, covering all Commercial, Manufacturing and Operations activities as well as all support functions.
After growing up on a farm in the Redlands district of Southeast Queensland, he graduated from Gatton College in 1987 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Horticultural Technology), with First Class Honours. A 16-year career with Dow Chemical covered various Australian assignments, along with General Management roles in New Zealand, the Philippines and Vietnam.
Before joining Ameropa in 2013, Jim spent the previous seven years with The Chamberlain Group, most recently in the capacity of Managing Director for the Oceania region.
Simon Murphy is the Chief Feedstuffs Trader.
Born in 1966 Simon has been in the grain trade since 1984 when he joined The Grain & Feed Trade Association as a ring clerk at GAFTA London Wheat futures market. In 1986 Simon joined Alexanders Partners grain brokers, before joining Arkady Feed, the UK arm of Alfred C Toepfer International of Hamburg, as a Feedstuffs / grain trader, in 1988. Over the next 20 years Simon held a variety of senior roles within Toepfer in both India and Singapore.
In 2010 Simon joined Ameropa and founded our feedstuff business as Vice President. Simon went on to establish offices in India, Indonesia and Thailand to build out our Asian branch network.
Mihai Panait is the CEO, Chimpex & Ameropa Grains.
Born in 1967 in Bucharest, Mihai graduated from the Polytechnics University of Bucharest with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, followed by an additional Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest.
Having held various management positions in the industrial automation sector in multinational companies such as Emerson and Norgren, Mihai joined Ameropa in 2013 as the CEO of Chimpex. Starting June 2020, Mihai was also appointed as CEO of Ameropa Grains.
Jean-Vincent Piot joined Ameropa in July 2020 as Head of Strategy.
Graduating from HEC Paris in 2004 with an MSc in Management, Jean-Vincent has been working in the agricultural commodities industry since 2008 for several companies such as Louis Dreyfus, Wilmar and Sierentz, both in Geneva and Singapore, primarily in sugar but also in grains and vegetable oil. He has been involved in various roles across trading and supply & demand analysis to management, corporate finance, M&A and strategy.
Jean-Vincent was also a Board member of Cosumar, one of the largest companies listed in Morocco, between 2014 and 2017.
Andreas Rickmers is COO – Food & Feed.
Born in Germany in 1964, Andreas studied agricultural economics at the University of Kiel before joining Cargill in 1991. During his 25-year career with Cargill, Andreas worked in senior management positions in Germany, South Africa, Ukraine and Switzerland, with his last 10 years at Cargill spent as Vice President for their grain and oilseeds activities in Europe. In 2017, he accepted the position as CEO of Agravis, a large German cooperative. Andreas joined Ameropa in his current role in March 2021 and is based in Lausanne.
He was born in Basel in 1958 and is a long term member of the Ameropa family. Since his start in 1981 he filled various positions within Ameropa AG such as Area Manager Asia and is representing the Group in a number of subsidiaries. Besides those activities he presently manages the Ammonia desk of Ameropa.
Gabriel Sztutwojner is the Chief Fertilizer Trader.
Born in Buenos Aires in 1977, Gabriel started his trading career in Ameropa Switzerland in 2003. Prior to this he studied Accounting and Business Administration at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Buenos Aires.
In 2007 he joined Trammo as the Global Head of Urea trading where he spent 6 years.
He returned to Ameropa in 2013 as the Head of Nitrogen until he was appointed Chief Trader for Fertilizers in 2015.
Simon Taylor is our Strategic HR Manager, and he takes the lead on all Group-wide strategic HR and organisational development initiatives, including Employee Engagement, Talent, Leadership and Culture development.
Simon graduated from the University of Lincoln in 2006 with a first-class Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management. Over the course of his career, Simon has held a variety of roles in different HR disciplines and industries, including healthcare, IT consulting & services, maritime shipping and now, Agri-commodities.
Simon moved from the UK to Switzerland in 2015, before joining Ameropa in April 2018.
