Ameropa is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Weber as our new General Counsel, effective 14 July 2025.
Matthew brings over 25 years of global legal and compliance experience across the agribusiness, commodities, and finance sectors. He joins Ameropa from Viterra Limited, where he served as General Counsel, Global Head of Compliance, and Company Secretary. At Viterra, Matthew led a worldwide team of legal and compliance professionals supporting a $55 billion agribusiness with operations in 39 countries. He played a key role in several strategic transactions, including the $2.8 billion acquisition of Gavilon Agriculture Investment, Inc.
Before his time at Viterra, Matthew spent approximately 12 years at Glencore International AG in Baar, Switzerland, where he managed legal aspects of complex global M&A, joint ventures, financing, and restructuring initiatives. His earlier career includes roles at leading U.S. law firms and a clerkship with the United States Bankruptcy Court.
Matthew holds an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law, a J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law, and a B.A. in Political Science from UCLA.
Matthew brings deep international expertise and a track record of leadership in high-stakes, cross-border legal matters. We believe that his appointment will further strengthen Ameropa’s legal capabilities as we continue to grow and evolve globally.
